Dave Link is the new Chief Executive Officer for EMW Industrial.
The Saltcoats-based company announced Link’s ascension to the position on August 9. Link will be succeeding Ewen Morrison, who has led the company since 1971. Morrison will continue working with EMW as president.
“This will allow myself to be actively involved and focused on the company’s business development,” Morrison said in a press release.
“I am proud of what our organization has accomplished,” he said. “[I’m] very excited about our prospect for continued success.”
Link started his career in 1990, by joining the Minneapolis-based Cargill Texturing Solutions after he graduated from University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with a business degree.
Link held several positions with the company through his 27-year tenure.
“It was a great place to start my career,” Link said.
Link’s most recent position with Cargill was Product Line Manager. He has worked with Morrison and EMW for several years due to their client relationship with Cargill.
Link said he was offered the CEO position for his industry knowledge and decades of experience. He accepted the offer because of his first-hand involvement with EMW.
“I believe EMW is a company that’s leading the future of the industry and I want to be part of that,” he said.
Link thanked Morrison and other employees for helping him transition in his new role.
“Like any new person coming into an organization for the first time, there is a learning curve,” Link said. “So far this opportunity has been a positive one.”
Link highlighted his experience, communication skills, and leadership ability as tools he’ll use in his new position.
“I can contribute my ability to streamline office processes and plan ahead, which will help facilitate overall company growth,” he said
