Over the course of the next few weeks, enumerators will be going door-to-door throughout the Province for the purpose of obtaining the necessary information to prepare the Voters' List which will be used for the Provincial General Election. The enumerators, who will be wearing bright yellow vests to identify themselves as such, will be seeking the names, addresses, birth dates, and occupations of all eligible voters.

A voter may only be included on the Voters' List for the constituency and poll in which he or she resided, on the date the election is called. To be eligible to vote, and therefore entitled to be included on the Voters' List, you must be eighteen years of age or older, a Canadian citizen on Election Day (or a British subject if you were eligible to vote in the Saskatchewan election of June 23,1971), and a resident of Saskatchewan for at least the six months immediately preceding the call of the election.

About 3000 individuals will be involved in carrying out the enumeration, which must be completed by Monday, September 26, 2011. Elections Saskatchewan wishes to remind apartment operators and condominium boards that by law, enumerators must be permitted access to apartment buildings and condominiums.

The enumerators will also carry with them applications to vote as an absentee voter for those eligible voters who will be away from home or otherwise unable to get to the polls during the Advance Polls, November 1 through November 5, 2011 and Election Day, November 7, 2011.
