A pot-luck Christmas social was held at the Dubuc Memorial Hall on Sun., Dec. 19 with over 60 people in attendance. Everyone filled up on the delicious supper dishes and fabulous desserts. After the clean-up, a special guest in red and white made his entry. Santa handed out treat bags and visited with the children. There were a couple "big kids" that also sat on his knee and shared what was on their wish-list. Everyone enjoyed the fun and then Santa was on his way. Soon it was time for about 20 youngsters to take to the stage. Their parents, and the other adults gathered, enjoyed the impromptu concert as preschoolers to highschoolers told jokes, sang songs and did a bit of acting to go with the stories they recited. The older children MC'd and helped organize the younger ones and they did a great job. There were also several donated raffle prizes drawn for throughout the concert. The raffle money and silver collection go to the DRA to help cover some of the evening's expense.

Parents, siblings, grandparents and friends attended the Stockholm school Christmas concert on Dec. 21 at MacDonald School auditorium. The students and teachers did a great job - speaking out well, acting, singing and playing musical instruments. We always look forward to being entertained by these young people.

A Christmas service of carols and candles was held on Dec. 22 in the Dubuc Worship Centre. Rev. Susan Griffith led us in worship and her daughter, Lindsay, was organist. A special thank-you to both of them and also to those who cleared the snow from the front steps and decorated the sanctuary with a Christmas tree and advent wreath to make this special service happen. It helped us all remember that Christ is the reason for the season!

Congratulations to Joe and Leona Kaczur who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the Dubuc Memorial Hall with a come and go tea on Dec 28. Joe and Leona are a special couple who are always actively involved in our community happenings. They are always willing to help out whenever and however they can. Following the afternoon tea, a supper was served for family and close friends. Their children: Wayne & Bernadine Kaczur, Kirsten, Colton and Shelby from Dubuc; Ken Kaczur and Melanie of Esterhazy; Lynn & Stan Bialas, Derek and Heather of Onanole, MB; and Candace and Dan Oremba, Jacob and Kendall from Regina were all able to be home to help their parents celebrate this milestone.
