Farrell raises the roof (and everything else)

When Jason Farrell needed a new home for Farrell Agencies, he was in luck. The land and building of the former Yorkton Tire and Auto Centre at the corner of Hamilton Road and Hwy 9 was available.

When Jason Farrell needed a new home for Farrell Agencies, he was in luck. The land and building of the former Yorkton Tire and Auto Centre at the corner of Hamilton Road and Hwy 9 was available.

The only problem was Farrell needed two stories and the existing building would only accommodate one-and-a-half.

So, the search continued, right? No.

“When I was telling a friend that only the middle portion can be finished with a second floor which may leave me tight in years to come to accommodate anticipated expansion he simply posed the question: ‘why don’t you just raise it?’” Farrell explained. “I paused and thought it was a brilliant idea. I asked Logan Stevens if it’s possible. They smiled and said ‘anything is possible’. We are all discovering new possibilities at the same time.”

He needed another four feet to turn it into a legitmate two-storey building. For the details they turned to Third Generation Concrete.

The company built a frame of steel beams inside the building and last week raised it five feet using giant air bags so they could pour a four foot foundation.
