Fields of Light

Four artists Laura Gendall, Kristen Doyle, Glenn Romasanta and James Clow came together at the Godfrey Dean Art gallery Sunday afternoon to showcase their unique pieces that complement each artist’s work when seen together. Gendall’s pieces focussed on cityscapes and their rhythms, illustrating visually how inanimate objects can become lively through light and colour. Doyle’s work presented passion in parkland scenery, while Romasanta contrasted prairie scenery through interesting colour and more abstract approaches. Clow’s pieces incorporated samples of ground potash on the surface of his paintings, a surprising take on Saskatchewan scenery. Turnout from the city varied in age and diversity, filling the reception with varied interpretations and interested buyers.
