The Yorkton Film Festival (YFF) will kick off this year's event with a special screening of Terry Ortynsky's film Twice.

Ortynsky is best-known around town as the dealer principle of Royal Ford and Royal Honda, but became interested in film-making after taking a workshop by award-winning director Robert Fritz.

Last year, Ortynsky partnered with Fritz to make a series of films.

Twice, the story of a mysterious woman who returns home and reconciles the secrets of her past, will be shown Wednesday, May 22 at 7 p.m. in the Parkland Room of Painted Hand Casino.

"We are incredibly pleased to to have a film producer living and working in Yorkton," said Randy Goulden, YFF executive director.

For complete coverage of this screening and the entire festival, watch for Calvin Daniels' reporting in the upcoming print editions of Yorkton This Week.
