The Yorkton Film Festival is now accepting submissions for its 2012 festival season.
Submissions will be accepted until the deadline of January 31, 2012 at which time the adjudication process will begin. The nominees will be announced in March and the winners of the Golden Sheaf Awarded will be announced at the Yorkton Film Festival Gala on May 27, 2012 in Yorkton, SK.
The 2012 Yorkton Film Festival will take place May 24 to May 27, 2012. The event will include professional development workshops and panels featuring industry leaders, film screenings, the trademark Lobsterfest, and the Golden Sheaf Awards gala ceremony. This year's festival includes 19 main film categories, ranging from Animation to Student Production and including our new Digital Media category and revised Short Subject, formerly Documentary Short Subject, category. In addition our 19 category awards, a submitted film may also qualify for one of our special awards. Qualifying films can be considered for the Ruth Shaw Best of Saskatchewan, Emerging Filmmaker and Aboriginal awards as indicated on the entry application.
