A Yorkton firefighter injured on the job in June is currently recovering.

"We were at a structure fire at 75 Agriculture on June 13," recounts Yorkton Fire Protective Services Chief Dean Clark. "The fire had progressed up into the roof and we were spraying water up into some of the void spaces. One of our firefighters was working off of a ladder and fell off the ladder."

The firefighter, whose name is not being released, suffered a broken ankle and torn ligaments in his arm. He was taken immediately to Yorkton hospital before being sent to Regina for further evaluation, and released several days later.

Clark says that the firefighter was 15-20 feet from the ground when he fell.

He is now working with doctors and physiotherapists on his recovery, with no word on when he might return to work.
