The Frank Flaman Foundation recently donated $10,000 and provided a significant boost to the fundraising campaign for the conceptual plan for a new Regional Hospital.
"We are really pleased to make this donation," said Tyson Becker, Manager of Flaman Sales for east central Saskatchewan. "I think most of us in the area realize we need a new regional hospital; this region is growing and it is going to continue to grow. This is the right time to be planning a new hospital, and Flamans recognizes that and wants to help move the process forward, and that is why we are stepping up with such a significant donation."
"While a new hospital will help investment and growth in our region, it is also needed by our customers and by the communities where we do business. We have operations throughout this region, with stores in Swan River, Moosomin, and Yorkton and all of those areas make use to the regional hospital in Yorkton.
"Normally the Frank Flaman Foundation doesn't fund healthcare, but prefers to support organizations that work with children in need or shelters for abused women and children. The Foundation also makes significant contributions to international Charities working with children.
However, this project will have a tremendous positive impact on a huge number of people so we felt it was something we needed to recommend to the Foundation and we are very glad they made this donation," continued Mr. Becker.
"This donation is great news, and it comes at a terrific time for us; we want to finish the fundraising for the conceptual plan early this summer and be able to have planning underway before the end of summer," said Ross Fisher, Executive Director of The Health Foundation. "This is the largest donation we have received for this project, and it helps keep us on schedule to finish the fundraising this summer," continued Mr. Fisher.
So far we've had terrific support from the business community since we started raising funds to develop a conceptual plan. I hope many businesses will note this generous contribution from the Frank Flaman Foundation and decide to make a donation of their own.
"With this donation we have raised $150,000 of the $180,000 we need for the conceptual plan. We are on schedule with the fundraising campaign, but clearly need another 20 or 30 donors to reach our goal," continued Mr. Fisher.
