The 2015 Easter Seals Snowarama was held Saturday in Yorkton, the snowmobile derby starting at the Gallagher Centre where participants were fed breakfast in the Nexera Flexihall before hitting the trail north to Good Spirit Recreation Hall, and then back to the Gallagher Centre for the awards banquet. The event attracts snowmobilers from a large area, gathering in support of a good cause. The 38th annual event raises funds to help youth attend Camp Easter Seal each summer. This year Snowarama raised $116,358. The top three fundraisers were; Kenn Propp raising $11,555, Courtney Frank raising $7255, Bruce Peppler raising $5175. The Easters Seals Snowarama funds three children’s programs that are offered and operated by the Saskatchewan Abilities Council:  Adaptive Technology Services, Summer Fun, and Camp Easter Seal.  The programs provide self-confidence, independence, and recreational opportunities for children with disabilities in Saskatchewan. The camp is located at Manitou Beach near Watrous. It is surrounded by lush wooded slopes and the beautiful Manitou Lake. As the only completely wheelchair accessible camp facility in Saskatchewan, Camp Easter Seal is dedicated to providing a fun and barrier free experience to all campers.
