Danil Davidson trial

A 23-year-old Yorkton man is scheduled to go on trial in 2015 on forcible confinement and assault charges.

Danil Davidson pleaded not guilty in Yorkton Provincial Court December 22 on the charges related to an incident in 2011.

On March 30, 2011 police responded to a complaint by a woman who said she had been attacked and forcibly confined.

Allegedly a young man driving a pickup truck had stopped her and chatted with her briefly before getting out of the truck. He then grabbed her, she said, put a knife to her throat and forced her into the back of the vehicle.

She managed to break free and got away uninjured.

The RCMP arrested Davidson November 13.

The Crown elected to proceed by indictment meaning each count carries a maximum penalty of ten years in prison.

The trial is set to begin  June 16.
