The City of Yorkton is presenting a Festival and Event Production Workshop on Sat., March 10, 2012 at the Gallagher Centre. This workshop will be led by Marian Donnelly, CEO of Inner Circle Management and the Creative City Centre in Regina. The workshop is ideal for anyone involved in producing concerts, festivals, award shows, conferences, sporting events or other special events. Marian Donnelly is no stranger to Yorkton. She authored the Municipal Cultural Plan for the City of Yorkton in 2009. There is a workshop registration fee and seating is limited to 20. Ski For The Pot of Gold with the Yorkton Cross Country Ski Club on Sunday, March 11 @ 1 p.m. at Deer Park Golf Course. This is the clubs last event of the season. The fee is 5 loonies which we put in the "Pot of Gold". Skiers go from station to station along the groomed trails, picking up poker chips. Upon return to the clubhouse, they trade in their chips for a poker hand. Best poker hand wins 1/2 of the Pot of Gold. Everyone is encouraged to wear green since this is just before St. Patrick's Day. You do not have to be a member in order to participate. Everyone welcome. They'll be selling Harvest Hotdogs with beverage for $3.00 or 2/$5.00. All proceeds to go to their trail grooming equipment fund. Washroom available.
