Assiniboine Food Security Alliance is hosting the 2nd Annual Prairie Sun Seed Festival on Sat., Feb. 25 from 1 to 4:40 p.m. at Dr. Brass School Gymnasium. Admission is a non-perishable food or donation to local food banks. This celebration of the diversity of seed and the culture of growing food locally features exhibits, displays by local food producers, seed sellers, gardening and seed workshops, food preservation demonstrations and a seed exchange. Free family fun at Deer Park Golf Course, Mon., Feb. 20 @ 1 p.m. The Yorkton Cross Country Ski Club (Nordic skiing) is hosting a Family Day Ski Safari. We'll be hunting for hidden stuffed animals along our groomed trails. When you spot one, mark it on your Safari Map. When you get back to our warm clubhouse, hand in your map and the person or persons that have spotted the most will be crowned Safari King or Queen. This is not a timed event. Wear Safari gear over your ski clothes if you wish. Hot dog sale to follow: $3.00 for one or 2/$5.00, includes a beverage. All proceeds to go to our trail grooming equipment fund. Washroom available.
