Darcy Napady, manager of the Yorkton Co-op's Palliser Way location and Kyle Rathgeber, manager of the Yorkton Co-op's West Broadway location, presented a cheque for $5,100 to Ross Fisher, Executive Director of The Health Foundation, to help fund the purchase of a new ultrasound machine for the regional hospital.

"This cheque is the result of our 'Fill up for Health' promotion we ran in conjunction with The Health Foundations' Radiothon. With GX94 and THE FOX promoting the program we saw about a 30 percent increase in the volume of gas we normally sell," said Darcy Napady. "It wasn't that much busier during the day, but after 4:00 we were really busy at both locations. People had heard the promotion on the radio and came to fill up after work."

"It was great to see some new customers," said Rathgeber. "We hope some of them stay with us after seeing the great service we provide and seeing first hand how the Yorkton-Co-op gives back to the community."

Yorkton Co-op's 'Fill up for Health' promotion saw the co-op donate 10 cents a liter for every liter of gas they sold on Tuesday, April 24.

"Our staff did a great job; they really had to be moving to keep the cars moving quickly so people didn't wait long. Even with how extra busy it was, nobody had to wait long and we still cleaned everyone's windows," said Napady.

"We think this was just a great idea and terrific promotion," said Ross Fisher. "This helped to create a lot of awareness for our radiothon. We would like to take this idea out to the rest of the business community in the future."
