A former Yorkton businessman wanted for aggravated assault in Yorkton has been arrested in British Columbia and is on his way back to Saskatchewan.

Adam Paton, previously the owner of Skin City Tattoo, was picked up by the Kelowna RCMP on a warrant January 1 and appeared in B.C. provincial court January 2 where a judge placed him on a six-day remand for return to this jurisdiction.

According to Sgt. Rob Laurent of the Yorkton General Investigations Section, the aggravated assault charge stemmed from a fight at a restaurant on Broadway Street in May 2014.

Laurent said Paton will be transported back to Yorkton before the remand expires. Currently, a Yorkton court date has not been scheduled.
