Grimm tale set for Ren Faire

The third annual Yorkton Paper Bag Players Renaissance Faire will be held this Saturday, July 22 at Rodney Ridge Park in the city.

The highlight of activities will be the Paper Bag Players performance of the Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon.

The fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm are turned on their heads in this fast-paced, rollicking ride as two narrators and several actors attempt to combine all 209 stories ranging from classics like Snow White, Cinderella, and Hansel and Gretel to more bizarre, obscure stories like The Devil’s Grandmother and The Girl Without Hands. The show is a wild, free-form comedy with lots of audience participation and madcap fun.

The play, directed by Teresa Weber includes in the cast;

• Kelly Schnurr: Narrator Two, The Devil, Prince One, Hansel

• Marilyn Kuntz: Actor

• Justin Kacsmar: Girl, Dwarf One, The Devil Two

• Ava Milani: Dirt Merchant

• Randy Stebner: Rumpelstitskin, Witch Two, God

• Bailey Lemcke: Rapunzel, Gretel, Doctor

• Stormy Ybarra; Witch One, Devil’s Grandmother

• Pam Milani: Dwarf Two, Cinderella

• Teresa Weber: Snow White

The day, which will see activities from 11am – 5pm will also include a chance to tour Loki’s Brood Viking’s settlement and watch them battle!

There will plenty of vendors, some tarot card readers, bouncy castle and face painting, canteen barbeque, and flute cocktail.

Admission for the day is free.
