Good Spirit School Division Board of Education hosted its Fifth Annual Staff Appreciation Awards Gala dinner attended by approximately 200 people on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the Gallagher Centre.
Awards were presented to 92 employees.
This year, both service award recipients as well as the newly created Sea Stars Making a Difference Employee Recognition Award recipients were recognized. Permanent, continuing service to education were recognized at the 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 year levels. Sea Stars are those employees which are "Sparkling Examples of Accomplished Skillful Talented and Radiant Staff" who portray dedication to student success in one of three recognition areas including a high level of achievement (Mrs. Tracey Olson at Hoffman School and Mr. Reg Leidl at P.J. Gillen School), individual or school staff making a marked difference (Davison School Support Staff Team of Milissa Gavel, Chad Lechner, Tammy Fleury and Tryna Odland) as well as dedicated service (Doreen Kryski at Canora Composite School).
During the awards presentation, numerous door prizes were handed out with the top door prize of a 42" TV provided by RBC Royal Bank. The comedy/magic/ventriloquist show of Doug Arden from Regina provided a perfect conclusion to the evening.
