Brett Franklin, Manager at RBC Yorkton Branch presented Ross Fisher, the Executive Director of The Health Foundation, with a donation of $1,000 from RBC.
The donation comes from RBC's Day of Service program, which celebrates National Volunteer Week. RBC provides this ongoing program for employees who volunteer in their community. RBC Day of Service Grant is available for teams who volunteered outside of work hours on any day from April 1 to June 14. This grant supports and recognizes employees who respond to a community need that may be a one-time opportunity or helping a local charity. RBC provided a grant of $1,000 to The Health Foundation, which was the charity we volunteered for," said Danita Thurston, Associate Commercial Account Manager with RBC.
Our staff volunteer with a number of organizations in the community throughout the year, and many of us participate in other events The Health Foundation holds as well. However, The Health Foundation's golf tournament fell within the time period RBC had designated for the Day of Service grant, so we thought it was a great opportunity to volunteer with The Health Foundation and have RBC make a $1,000 donation in recognition of our volunteer service," added Mrs. Thurston.
'The donation from RBC will go toward the Foundation's campaign raising funds toward the new regional hospital. That's a great cause, and we all know we need a new hospital for this region," added Mrs. Thurston.
"We really appreciate this donation from RBC, and we are very pleased to have the ongoing support of RBC staff for many of the events and projects we work on to improve our local healthcare, said Ross Fisher. We are pleased by this program RBC has encouraging staff to volunteer in the community.
