Health Donation

Dennis Elaschuk, the Reeve of the R.M. of Calder presented a cheque for $1,000 to Ross Fisher, Executive Director of The Health Foundation, to help fund the conceptual plan for a new regional hospital. "Our council is in support of planning for a new regional hospital. We already have a shortage of doctors in this area, and a new hospital should make it easier to interest doctors in working here," said Reeve Dennis Elaschuk. "The current regional hospital is a little run down, it's getting crowded and outdated. With the new businesses and new people moving into the area it makes sense to be planning now. Our council wanted to show we support a new regional hospital, that's why we are making this donation," continued Reeve Elaschuk. "We are very pleased to have the support of the RM of Calder. A new regional hospital is a challenge and support like we are getting from the RM of Calder is crucial if we are going to succeed," said Mr. Fisher.
