A 1919 event

In July of 1919 Yorkton’s Auto Club held their annual evening outing, which consisted of a supper, bon fire and old time dance. The members and friends met at the Town Hall on Third Avenue North at 4:30pm with luncheon baskets and then proceeded to York Lake. Dancing took place at the War Veterans Pavilion. A newspaper article tells us that the membership was at a high figure and the writer encouraged those persons in bad standing to rejoin as soon as possible to lighten the work of the secretary. There was some comment on the conditions of the roads around the lake and that work was underway to make them more passable.
