Drawing found in The Yorkton Enterprise of May 1914. It was to advertise spring “Clean-up” Day, to remind and encourage citizens to do a major home and yard clean-up. This very busy and energetic scene tells us that the artist may have had very strong convictions about neighborhood spring clean-up. No one is portrayed lazying around in a hammock or porch swing! If the artist was using an actual neighbourhood as a model of industriousness, one has a feeling that the relaxing types stayed out of sight or they would have run the risk of being shamed into working.
