The 17 carriers look like happy entrepreneurs and the dog looks perfectly at ease with the group. The carriers would pick up their newspapers at the Leader Post office located upstairs at the back of the building on the southeast corner of Broadway Street and Third Avenue South. Clifford Shaw was agent for the Leader Post from 1944 until his death in 1959, when his wife Ruth took over his position, which consisted of writing Yorkton news to be included in the Leader Post the next day, and supervising groups of carriers like the one portrayed here.
