Pachal Beverages Staff and dog

Pachal Beverages Plant was located on the west side of Agricultural Avenue. Several of the men in this photo are drivers who deliver the soft drinks manufactured at the plant locally and to outlying areas. Frank Korvemaker, Construction Historian of Regina describes the building as follows: “This is definitely a pressed sheet metal facade, done in the form of concrete blocks, as opposed to bricks. My building at Truax, Sask., is also faced with pressed sheet metal like this. The sheet metal was meant to impress the public with a “masonry” look. But, more importantly, from the owner’s perspective, extremely low maintenance, and never needed painting if you stuck with the galvanized look. But if you painted it once, then you were stuck with repainting on a regular basis, or live with the peeling paint appearance. Great historic photo!”
