History Alive! Vignettes features theatrical performances, depicting life at Government House from 1898 – 1910 and at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building during 1911 and 1919.

The short, live performances start July 5th and run through to August 18th. Vignettes specific to Government House take place each Sunday and Tuesday at 1:00, 2:00, 3:00 and 4:00 pm. Vignettes at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building will occur Monday afternoons at 1:00, 2:00, 3:00 and 4:00 pm. Each set of three performances are about 30 minutes in length and are being presented in both English and French. Admission is Free.

History Alive! Vignettes is produced, promoted and presented by five partners, including: the Government of Saskatchewan’s Provincial Capital Commission, Government House and the Saskatchewan Legislative Assembly - Visitor Services, along with Reality Check Productions and Heritage Saskatchewan.

“As our province continues to grow stronger, it’s important for us to take a moment to step back into our history and learn from our past,” Minister responsible for the Provincial Capital Commission Mark Docherty said. “The success of these vignettes is an opportunity to continue to tell the Saskatchewan story”.

CEO of Heritage Saskatchewan, Ingrid Cazakoff, stated “an initiative like this would not be possible without the support of our partners, who have contributed their time, resources, expertise and energies.

In addition, we are very fortunate to have as our sponsors Tourism Saskatchewan, Government House Historical Society and the Regina Hotel Association. Heritage Saskatchewan would also like to acknowledge the core funding it receives from the Saskatchewan Lotteries Trust Fund for Sport, Culture and Recreation, through SaskCulture Inc.”

Heritage Saskatchewan is a non-profit organization and the collective voice of all those who value heritage in Saskatchewan.
