Rumours that a young pedestrian was injured in a hit-and-run accident on 3rd Avenue near Broadway last week are unfounded.
Const. Kerry Vicente of the municipal RCMP confirmed there was a hit-and-run, but that no pedestrians were involved.
At approximately 1 p.m. on November 14, a white compact car slid on the ice clipping two other vehicles. Eyewitnesses said the white car then escaped down the alleyway between 3rd and 2nd Avenues.
Vicente said the driver of the vehicle was quickly apprehended and charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving without a licence. Drugs or alcohol were not a factor.
Although EMS attended the scene, there were no injuries and none of the vehicles sustained serious damage.
