The hot, subcompact crossover segment has a new sporty entry that is sure to start turning heads now that it has arrived in Yorkton.

The Honda HR-V, like its big brother the CR-V, offers elegance with refined lines and details at a budget friendly price ranging from $20,690 to $29,990 for the fully-loaded, luxurious All-Wheel Drive EX-L.

Its peppy 16-valve 1.8L engine can crank up the horsepower while delivering great fuel economy of approximately 8 litres per 100 kilometres in the city, which is really where this vehicle excels.

The HR-V comes with some really nifty features including Honda's new LaneWatch technology, which uses a right side-mounted camera to eliminate the blind spot for right-hand turns.

Perhaps the most amazing thing about the HR-V, however, is that inside it does not feel like a subcompact. It is surprisingly spacious and features versatile seating and cargo options.

And, some lucky person in the Yorkton area could be the first person in Saskatchewan to take one home. Royal Honda just received the first two HR-Vs to roll off the truck in the province.

Sales Manager Peter Krasny is thrilled about having the new model on the lot.

"It's a really exciting new model," he said. "It's great for a wide range of people, from first-time purchasers to young families to empty-nesters. Everyone needs to test-drive this car."
