(August 6, 2013) - Yorkton Co-operative Association Limited is pleased to announce that they have officially opened their new food store in Kamsack, SK. "It's been a long process from concept development to the opening of the store, but it will be a wonderful facility" said Gene Krepakevich, President of the Board.
The new store has all the traditional offerings of a conventional grocery store including dry groceries, fresh meat and produce and two newly added fresh departments which are bakery and deli. "Nothing beats the smell of fresh baking in the morning" says Krepakevich, "and now we have the ability to provide these products, baked right-in store". In-store made salads, BBQ chicken and fresh wraps, sandwiches and subs adorn the deli case.
The new store will incorporate the latest standards in interior décor and has a number of energy efficiencies including LED lights in the coolers, energy efficient refrigeration racks and heat reclamation units.
The new store has 50 parking spots and ample parking for large vehicles and trucks pulling RV's. The traffic traveling through to Duck Mountain Provincial Park will now have a place to park a large RV and truck and pick up groceries before heading out to the lake.
The Grand Opening was held at the new Food Store on Friday August 9, 2013. A charity BBQ was held with all proceeds going to Sakok Ukrainian Dance Group. COOPER, the Co-op Mascot was in attendance handing out gifts to all the kids.
