On Fri., March 7, the women of Egypt invite you to join with them in the World Day of Prayer celebration, praying under the theme, "Streams in the desert". Each year the World day of Prayer service brings with it a feeling of curiosity. What will challenge, inspire and encourage us? What will we learn about the theme and the focus country? What will we learn about ourselves? Please join us and invite your friends and family to attend the World Day of Prayer service and learn more about the culture and heritage of Egypt. Join Christians in more than 170 countries around the world and 2,000 communities across Canada who will gather on the World Day of Prayer to pray and act in solidarity with the people of Egypt. A local World Day of Prayer service will be held at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church on Thurs., March 13 @ 7:00 p.m.

The Yorkton Film Festival, the Yorkton Public Library and the Canadian Federation of University Women - Yorkton are jointly sponsoring Open Cinema, Tues., March 11 at 7:00 at the library. Join us for the screening of the film "Cyberbullying". Following the documentary, Dennis Nesseth, Lana Stanek-Sebastian and Shelly Westberg, teachers and counselors at the Good Spirit School Division, will talk about the issue in Yorkton and school responses to deal with it. The film is free and everyone is welcome.

Yorkton Faith Build presents a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity - His Promise - a musical following the life of Jesus Christ. Thurs., March 6, 7:30 p.m.; Fri., March 7, 7:30 p.m.; Sat., March 8, 7:30 p.m.; Sun., March 9, 2:00 p.m.; Sun., March 9, 7:30 p.m. All performances take place at the Anne Portnuff Theatre in the Yorkton Regional High School. Tickets are available at LR Futures, Sherring Optical and the Golden Rule. Certain scenes may be upsetting to young children.
