President Peter Wyatt, Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 77, presented a cheque to Ross Fisher, Executive Director, of The Health Foundation, to finish off the Foundation’s campaign to raise the money to buy 25 monitors.

“We have been great supporters of the work of The Health Foundation for many years now,” said Peter Wyatt. “The equipment we buy is a benefit to our members and to the veterans who might have to use the hospital. Of course, everyone in the community also uses the equipment.”

“Generally, we take a portion of the funds raised through the annual Poppy Campaign to help our local healthcare and other community projects. This past year $25,000 was raised in the annual poppy campaign, and the majority of that money has been used to support community activities and organizations. The first focus of the Poppy Campaign is to assist our Veterans and today’s Canadian Soldiers who are often suffering from PTSD when they come home,” continued Mr. Wyatt.

“We are grateful for the help of the Yorkton Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion,” said Ross Fisher. “The Legion has helped us to purchase many pieces of equipment for the regional hospital over the last few years.

This bedside monitor system can access the latest information on the patient, including nursing assessment, laboratory and X-ray test results on these monitors. The information is available to the physician when they are talking to the patient at the bedside. The doctor can review those test results with the patient and the patients’ family.
