Leisure time in the 1920s...

This photo was taken around 1928 or 1929 at the service station on the southeast corner of Second Avenue North. The man on the right is my father, Anton Riesz. I do not know the identities of the other men.

This photo was taken around 1928 or 1929 at the service station on the southeast corner of Second Avenue North. The man on the right is my father, Anton Riesz. I do not know the identities of the other men. They were probably newly arrived immigrants to Yorkton. In the background you can see the Hudson's Bay store as well as the Bank of Commerce and the Roxy Theatre. In the far background are the buildings on First Avenue. You can also see the streetlight standards on Broadway. They were five incandescent bulbs in the shape of a cross on the top of a short standard.
