Yorkton Public Library is finally moving back home.

The library will close its temporary space in the Parkland Mall at the end of this Friday, November 25, and begin moving back to its Broadway Avenue location on Monday.

The Yorkton branch of Parkland Regional Library was forced out of its usual home last summer by the July 1, 2010 flood. Its stay in the mall was lengthened by repeated delays to the building's repairs.

Those delays are all behind them, said library regional director Dierdre Crighton, although an exact reopening date has not been set.

"We have not determined the date yet because we've got people coming in to put up shelving."

The library should open for limited service (pick-ups on holds only) starting on December 1. Staff are tentatively aiming to fully open on Wednesday, December 7.

In the meantime, the book drop at the Parkland Mall will remain open until November 29, and the drop at the main Broadway location should open again on Monday the 28th.

Crighton recommends calling 783-3523 or checking the door of the library on Broadway for updates.
