Work first approved by Yorkton Council in 2010 will proceed following a unanimous decision of Council at its regular meeting Monday.
Council approved the extension of Kelsey Bay and signalization of a new Broadway Street East intersection in 2010.
"The Kelsey Bay extension involves the installation of a signalized intersection on Broadway Street East; the renovation of the existing Parkland Mall entrance and the extension of Kelsey Bay. The improvements are to improve the turning movements into the mass as well as a proposed commercial development located to the west and south of it," detailed a report circulated to Council.
The latest tender was for the signalization work, explained Gord Shaw, Director of Planning & Engineering with the City. Three tenders were received the lowest at $177,634 from CanTraffic Services Ltd.
The construction estimate provided for $250,000 for this work, said Shaw.
