The week of Feb. 19-25 was unanimously declared Guide/Scout Week in Yorkton by City Council at its regular meeting Monday.
"February 22 is fast approaching, and is a significant date within the Girl Guides and Boy Scout organizations. It is the birthday of both our founding fathers, Lord and Lady Baden Powell and is known as Thinking Day within our organizations. During this week both our organizations plan special activities within our groups to celebrate," said Girl Guide representative Leta Perpeluk.
A Flag raising ceremony will be on Feb. 19, to raise the Guide and Scout flags to signify the start of this important time.
