The 14th Biennial Synod ELCIC touched down in Yorkton from June 1 to 3.
About 230 Lutheran pastors and delegates from across the province gathered at the Gallagher Centre, said Karen Linsley, the conference coordinator.
The conference included meetings to discuss annual reports, daily worship services, displays around the Gallagher Centre, and a banquet featuring the community jazz band.
The theme was Covenant People in Mission for Others. The theme was chosen because working as a team, locally and abroad, is very important, explained Linsley.
The conference concluded with an open worship service at St. Paul Lutheran Church on Sunday.
"St. Paul's Lutheran, Pastor Fred Schneider is the pastor here in Yorkton. He and his congregation has been fantastic in assisting us with volunteers and stewards," said Linsley.
The challenge of a shrinking church population is mentioned in the bulletin of reports. Saskatchewan Synod membership figures show that average church attendance decreased by almost half from 1985 to 2011.
