City of Yorkton Manager Lonnie Kaal will receive a Meritorious Service Award from the Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association.
"The SUMA Awards Banquet will be held in February of 2015 in Regina. As in previous years, the City has endeavoured to recognize employees who have in excess of twenty years of service with the City of Yorkton," said Chris Wentzell, Director of Human Resources with the City at the regular meeting of Yorkton Council Monday.
"Traditionally Council has approved up to four employees to attend the SUMA Banquet," he said, adding in 2015 only one employee is able to attend.
Wentzell said, "There are over thirty employees with twenty or more years of service and many of these employees have previously attended the SUMA banquet."
Two employees who qualified for 2015 have requested attendance at next year's banquet when they both will achieve twenty-five years of service with the City, said Wentzell.
