Miss Tena Currie, teacher is pictured here in the role of Flora McDonald, or MacDonald.

The character Flora was a feminist, and suffragette of the early 1900s in Canada.

She also ran a dressmaking business, after having worked for the Robert Simpson Company in Toronto.

She owned the Bon Echo Inn on Mazinaw Lake, Ontario, where artists, poets and writers were welcome.
