Road closure signage illegally removed

The Yorkton Rural RCMP would like to advise the public that multiple road closures are in effect in the rural areas surrounding the city of Yorkton. This is mainly as a result of flood relief efforts.

It has come to our attention that a person or persons are removing barricades and signage from the affected roads.

These persons could be considered liable for criminal and civil action if someone were to damage their property, get injured, or be killed as a result of these actions.

The barricades and signage are placed in an effort to keep people safe. Removing or moving them could result in injury or worse for your friends, neighbors, or family.

Leave the barricades and signage in place.

Diesel leaked in semi accident

At 3:05 am on April 27, an eastbound semi crossed the westbound lane on Highway 10 approximately three km west of Wroxton, SK and ended up in the north ditch.

The tractor-trailer was carrying diesel fuel. Some of the fuel leaked from the tanks and Saskatchewan Environment was on scene to monitor the removal and cleanup of the fuel. The highway was restricted to a single lane for several hours.

Road conditions at the time were good and no other vehicles were involved in the incident. The lone male occupant was treated and released from hospital.
