More charges have been laid against one of the accused in a crime spree case.
At his most recent appearance in Yorkton Provincial Court, Blain Gilbert Bruce Gaudet, 33, of Yorkton, SK faced 108 charges at his most recent appearance in Yorkton Provincial Court. These include 53 counts of possession of stolen property, Section 345(1)(a) of the Criminal Code, one count Break and Enter/Theft, Section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code, and twenty counts Breach of Probation, Section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code.
The charges stem from multiple break-ins and thefts which occurred in early September. The thefts were spread through the region, including Yorkton, Melville and Churchbridge.
According to a release provided by the RCMP, his co-accused in the case are Jason Kevin Campbell and Janelle Brianne Umpherville. In the same release, Gaudet had 37 charges.
Campbell, 36, of Innisfail, AB is charged with 40 offenses. These include Five counts Possession of Stolen Property over $5000, Section 345(1)(a) of the Criminal Code, fifteen counts Possession of Stolen Property under $5000, Section 345(1)(a) of the Criminal Code, two counts Break and Enter/Theft, Section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code, seventeen counts Breach of Probation, Section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code and one count Driving While Prohibited, Section 259(4) of the Criminal Code. Campbell also faces one count Possession of a Controlled Substance, Section 4(1) of the CDSA.
Umpherville, 27, of Calgary, AB is charged with 37 offenses. These include five counts Possession of Stolen Property over $5000, Section 345(1)(a) of the Criminal Code, gifteen counts Possession of Stolen Property under $5000, Section 345(1)(a) of the Criminal Code, one count Break and Enter/Theft, Section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code, sixteen counts Breach of Probation, Section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code. Umpherville also faces one count Possession of a Controlled Substance, Section 4(1) of the CDSA.
Stolen property in excess of $200,000, including vehicles and tools, was recovered in the investigation.
