The Mosaic Company announced it is contributing $50,000 to the Saskatchewan Red Cross for disaster relief efforts in areas of southeastern Saskatchewan recently affected by heavy rainfall and flooding. Areas receiving assistance include the City of Yorkton and other communities near the company's Esterhazy potash operations, where states of emergency were declared on Sunday, June 29.
Mosaic's contribution to the Saskatchewan Red Cross will assist both immediate and long-term assistance and support clean-up efforts in communities hit hardest by the flooding.
"The Red Cross is grateful for this generous lead gift from Mosaic to help us support families with flood clean-up kits and other items to get them back on their feet," says Cindy Fuchs, Provincial Director for the Red Cross. "The ongoing contributions from our partners mean that the Red Cross is able to help our communities recover when disaster strikes."
