The Mosaic Company announced yesterday it has donated to Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) in support of wetlands preservation in Saskatchewan and wetlands restoration projects in the areas where Mosaic operates. The announcement was made at the Ducks Unlimited Diamond Signature Gala, celebrating the organization's 75th anniversary.
"Mosaic's relationship with Ducks Unlimited emphasizes our commitment to sustainability," said Brad DeLorey, Director of Public Affairs at Mosaic. "Working together we ensure thorough wetland compensation plans for Mosaic are established and put into action."
"Our local supporters are the voice for wetlands in the province," said Bob Poley, Development Manager at DUC. "With Mosaic, we will restore wetlands that provide essential habitat for over 600 species of plants and animals. Wetlands also play an important role in filtering our water, recharging groundwater, and reducing flooding."
"It is through partnerships with organizations such as Ducks Unlimited Canada - with their experience, expertise and guidance - that Mosaic is able to achieve its goals as an environmentally responsible corporate citizen," added DeLorey.
