NAOSH Week (May 3-9 in Yorkton was unanimously declared by City Council at its regular meeting Monday.
NAOSH refers to a Tri-party agreement between Canada, United States and Mexico to raise awareness, through events across North America the first week in May each year, about the importance of safety in the workplace. Communities across North America take part in promoting safety in the workplace by hosting events and awareness sessions during this week.”
To mark the week displays and activities supported by local businesses and groups will be held at the Kinsmen Arena in the City, said Yorkton Councillor Chris Wyatt in requesting the week.
“It’s a good eye-opener for those entering the workforce,” he said, adding they displays show safe ways of doing things on a work site, as well as proper safety gear.
The NAOSH flag will also be raised at City Hall to mark the week
