Yorkton Council unanimously declared the week of May 1-8 as NAOSH Week in the city at its regular meeting Monday.
"NAOSH refers to a Tri-party agreement between Canada, United States and Mexico to raise awareness, through events across North America the first week in May each year, about the importance of safety in the workplace.
Communities across North America take part in promoting safety in the workplace by hosting events and awareness sessions during this week," detailed the letter of request from Darrell Landels with the NAOSH Local Planning Committee.
To mark the week displays and activities supported by local businesses and groups will be held at the Kinsmen Arena in the City Thursday, May 5.
