North American Occupational Safety and Health

North American Occupational Safety and Health (NAOSH) Week is May 1 to 7, 2016. This year’s theme is Make Safety a Habit – What’s Your Reason? Each year, Canada, the United Sates, and Mexico observe NAOSH week to promote and encourage employers and employees to be healthy and safe in the workplace and at home.

“We need to make safety a priority in everything we do,” Labour Relations and Workplace Safety Minister Don Morgan said.  “NAOSH week invites you to renew your commitment to protecting yourself at work and at home.  It is everyone’s responsibility to eliminate and prevent injuries and illnesses.”

To celebrate NAOSH week, luncheon events will be held in Regina on Monday, May 2 at the Conexus Arts Centre and in Saskatoon on Tuesday, May 3 at Prairieland Park. Both events feature a keynote address from speaker and author Kevin Burns, who helps employers teach safety in a way that makes employees proud to be safe.
