As of August 1, St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church warmly and enthusiastically welcomed the new pastor Father Bohdan (Don) Lukie CSsR back to Yorkton and district.

Fr. Bohdan faithfully served here in St. Mary’s and in the Catholic School System from 1975-1984. He is happily remembered by many of the senior parishioners for whom he celebrated their children’s baptisms and marriages. He therefore hopes to become acquainted with the younger set and is looking forward to praying and working with all parishioners – young and old!

Fr. Bohdan, who just celebrated his 48th year of priesthood, returns home to Yorkton after having served throughout Canada, United States, New Zealand and Australia.

The parishioners of St. Mary’s admire his positive energy, captivating enthusiasm, his deep challenging faith and love for God.

Fr. Bohdan Lukie will be assisted by his second cousin Fr. Ray Lukie who has faithfully served St. Mary’s and the Catholic schools for the past seven years. The Lukie team will obviously be addressed by their first names.

We, as a parish, offer our heartfelt support and our constant prayers for them and anticipate working harmoniously with them in the Lord’s harvest.
