New wanderer chosen

Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Kevin Doherty introduced the 2013 Saskatchewanderer today - Caitlin Taylor.

Taylor has been hired for the 'best summer job ever'. The Saskatchewanderer is a summer student position whose duties include travelling around the province to discover all the awesome things there are to do in Saskatchewan and then tell the world about those experiences through video, written blogs and social media.

"We are proud to showcase our province through the adventures of the Saskatchawanderer," Doherty said. "Through her enthusiasm and social media experience, Caitlin will help the world experience Saskatchewan during her summer-long road trip."

So far, Saskatchewanderer videos on YouTube have received a combined total of nearly 60,000 views. Saskatchewanderer entry videos have received more than 30,000 views.

"When I heard about this job, I knew it was an opportunity to create positive change," Taylor said. "I know how awesome Saskatchewan is and I think the rest of Canada is starting to realize it. I'm so excited to spend the summer telling the Saskatchewan story, breaking some stereotypes and encouraging people to discover everything that makes our province great."

The ministry is pleased to announce its sponsors have signed on for a third year of wandering. Once again, Bennett Dunlop Ford is providing a vehicle for the Saskatchewanderer and CAA Saskatchewan is providing the fuel and a CAA membership.
