A development permit which is another step toward the development of a new building to house Maple Farm Equipment in the city was unanimously green lit at the regular meeting of Yorkton Council Monday.
The new facility will be built on lands located along York Road West, between Sully Avenue, Smith Street West, and the City Campground.
The property is zoned C-3 Highway Commercial and the proposed development is listed as a Discretionary Use in the C-3 zone.
The property is vacant and has previously been used for agricultural purposes.
“The building would be oriented to the northwest, facing the York Road/Sully Avenue intersection.
The building footprint is proposed to be 59,783 sq. ft. with an additional 13,279 sq. ft. on the second floor mezzanine,” detailed a report circulated to Council Monday.
“Approximately 24,000 sq. ft. is proposed for showroom, parts and offices, while 35,000 sq. ft. would be used for maintenance/washing. The 2nd floor would host a training room, lunch room and additional offices.”
