The number of condominium corporations in Saskatchewan has more than doubled over the past decade, creating the need for an easily accessible resource for owners, boards, developers, and others interested in the condominium sector.

“There is strong support for an online resource in the condominium sector,” Justice Minister and Attorney General Gordon Wyant said.  “Our government is committed to a citizen-first approach by making sure this information is easy to obtain and answers frequent questions that arise in the condominium community.”

The Office of the Public Registry Administration within the Ministry of Justice created an extensive list of information that will help clarify several common questions and answers.  Topics include insurance, condominium conversion, dispute resolution and pet ownership.

In 2004, 773 condominium corporations existed in Saskatchewan.  In 2014, the total number was 1,626.

“With the exponential growth the province has been experiencing in condominiums in the last decade, the questions and issues have also been rapidly growing,” Saskatchewan member of the Canadian Condominium Institute Executive Board Jamie Herle said.  “The information available on the Government of Saskatchewan website will be a huge asset in assisting with questions about condominiums, as well as the Act and regulations.”
