The Yorkton Film Festival is proud to announce the next installment in its 2017 – 2018 OPEN Cinema screening program and its first for 2018!
To mark Remembrance Week, YFF will be holding a screening of the film Reserve 107: Reconciliation on the Prairies. This documentary tells the story of people from the village of Laird and descendants of the Young Chippewayan First Nation. It teaches us that hope for reconciliation is indeed possible when relationships are built on a foundation of trust and sharing.
“This is an absolutely wonderful film,” said YFF Executive Director Randy Goulden. “It’s a local story, in that it is a Saskatchewan story, and I think it has such an incredible message and story that our local audience will find fascinating.”
As always, OPEN Cinema is presented 100 per cent free of charge and open to the public. Don’t forget to bring your OPEN Cinema passports, as those who collect four-out-of-five stamps at our screenings will be entered in a chance to win two tickets to the 2018 Lobsterfest. OPEN Cinema takes place at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 9 at the Yorkton Public Library.
