In just its second year, the Parkland Outdoor Show and Expo has become a tour de force that hunting and fishing enthusiasts are talking about across North America.
The numbers are still being crunched, but the show's primary organizer Darren Wandy estimated attendance may have doubled last year's inaugural event.
"I anticipated it was going to be big, but the magnitude it's grown is amazing," Wandy said. "It was breathtaking to sit back and watch it unfold."
Wandy credited a great lineup of speakers and exhibitors, for the remarkable status the show has achieved in such a short period of time.
The lineup of speakers included Brad Fry from Canadian Guide Life, Cody Robbins from Live 2 Hunt, Les Johnson from Predator Quest, Eva Shockey from Jim Shockey's Hunting Adventures and Dean Patridge from Canadian Whitetail Television.
Wandy also said he is not surprised that the Yorkton area would get behind the Expo pointing to his own family background.
"This country was built on people having to live off the land," he said. "It really runs deep. That was a way of life for us."
Proceeds from the event will support youth archery and construction of a local archery building for practice and competition.
