Parkland College has launched a new strategic plan to help guide its education and training efforts to 2020. The plan was approved by the Board of Governors at a meeting last week.
The new plan is built around four key priority areas: Achieve: enhance the learner experience; build successful careers; strengthen quality programs and instruction
Innovate: improve and simplify business processes; strengthen evidence-based decision making; elevate Parkland College’s role in social and economic development of communities
Grow: strengthen college integration and teamwork; enhance employee skills, abilities, and satisfaction; strengthen leadership for the future
Advance: increase alternate revenue sources; maximize use of physical assets; strengthen philanthropy; minimize risk
The plan hinges on embedding indigenization into the strategic framework and operations of the College to better serve the education and training needs of indigenous people.
“To thrive in the future, we must embrace change,” said President Dwayne Reeve. “If we view change as an opportunity for improvement and interesting new challenges, then we are in for an extremely exciting future.”
The strategic plan is the result of nearly a year of consultations with students, staff, stakeholders, and communities in the region.
